FWP+: Strip HTML Tags from Posts is an add-on module for the FeedWordPress aggregator, which allows you to automatically strip out HTML tags from posts that FeedWordPress syndicates. The add-on is available for download from projects.radgeek.com.
To install the add-on, simply download the installation package for the latest version, unzip the contents, and drop the module into your wp-content/plugins
directory. Then activate the add-on like any other WordPress plugin. (For more on installing and managing WordPress plugins, see WordPress: Managing Plugins.)
Once you have installed and activated the plugin, FWP+: Strip HTML Tags from Posts will create a new settings box, entitled Strip HTML in FeedWordPress’s Posts & Links settings page, and in the Posts settings pages for each individual feed that you syndicate. Use these settings pages to turn on HTML-stripping, and then click the Save Changes button to activate.
Note that you can choose to strip HTML tags from all syndicated posts, or only from posts that come from a particular feed. Note also that the functionality is applied at display time, rather than at the time when posts are originally syndicated, so the setting that you set here applies to all past syndicated posts, and can easily be reversed if you decide to turn it on or off at a later date.
A Community-Supported Plugin: Thanks!
The development of FWP+: Strip HTML for FeedWordPress was supported by the donations of 4 members of the FeedWordPress user community. Their generous gifts to the FeedWordPress project made it possible to devote the time and labor needed to develop this add-on and make it available to FeedWordPress users.
